1965-66 HOFer Cliff Hagan Game-Worn St. Louis Hawks Jersey w/Photo Match

Cliff Hagan and Bob Pettit put St. Louis on the pro basketball map with an incredible 10-year run from the mid ‘50’s to the mid ‘60’s. Hagan’s accomplishments were often overshadowed by his lanky teammates, but he was a perennial All-Star and scored 14,870 points during his 13 year Hall of Fame career.
Prior to his NBA Hawks career, he was an All-American at Kentucky and later returned to his alma mater as athletic director.
Although the Hawks were experimental and creative with their jerseys as early as the late ‘50’s, this ’65-66 style, which was used until the end of the decade, was perhaps their most attractive.
Made of highly sheened turquoise durene, the collar and arm yoke edging is rich with its 5-stripe/3-color red, white and blue trim. That trim is extended vertically as side panels with larger dimensions.
The Hawks’ nickname is sewn onto the jersey front in red on white tackle twill featuring a highly stylized font.
The numerals on front and back are likewise sewn in red and white twill and feature a rounded block, drop shadow font.
The inner tail sports a mid ‘60’s Rawlings size 44 label sewn in tandem with a washing instructions label.
The usage is outstanding in that the numerals and team name show solid puckering and edge wear, and despite some minor left underarm stains, it displays spectacularly.
You won’t find a prettier Cliff Hagan ‘50’s/’60’s durene gamer and for that matter, how often is a Cliff Hagan Hawks offered? In addition, the jersey has an exact photomatch to a 1965-66 game vs. the Lakers in Los Angeles. We salute the Hagan, Pettit, Lovellette, Trokia and their glory days at ‘ol Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis. A direct photo match of Hagan wearing this jersey will be provided to the winner. The photo appears on-line. Of special note is the sizable repair on the photo and on this jersey.
