Few Big League players have ever registered such one-year successes as Wilcy Moore, then only to sink abruptly to obscurity. Moore joined the Yankees in 1927 and posted an impressive 19-7 record with that legendary team. And from that smashing rookie season, his career went into an irretrievable tailspin. Nevertheless, Wilcy Moore holds the very exclusive distinction of having been rostered with the glorious '27 Yankees. Many years later (1960, as a matter of fact) Moore had occasion to buy feed for his livestock in Oklahoma. Yielded from that transaction is this bank check which he detailed and signed in ballpoint. All the particulars are cleanly entered; the check is EX/MT with its several cancellations comfortably distant from Moore's signature, and the quality of that signature is about "8" with very slight mussing in the first name.
