One of the card collector's more onerous challenges is capturing the "white letter" variations that appeared briefly in the '69 Topps baseball issue - particularly the Mantle card. Here available is one such which has been graded EX 5 by PSA. The surfaces of this one are about perfect, as are the color and focus. The centering is a little bias toward the left, yet well within the requirements of the grade. Critically examined, we concur with PSA. Corner wear is visible (but not distracting), and those corners aren't strong enough to warrant EX-MT. Yet, despite its condition qualifications, this is an impressively presentable card - one that's certainly worthy of the up-scale post-war gum card collection.
