1965 Mike Shannon Game-Worn, Signed Cardinals Flannel Jersey
When he played for the Redbirds, Mike Shannon was a steady outfielder who helped St. Louis win two World Series titles. This flannel jersey was worn by the life-long Cardinal in 1965, a year after the Cards won it all. The NOB has been professionaly restored, and is slightly newer when compared to the back numerals. The verso "8" numeral has numerous abrasions and cuts in the red felt. A repair has also been made in the upper shoulder area. The numerals are original. Tail tagging includes a Rawlings [size] "44" swatch, and "Shannon 65" is chain-stitched as well. The interior tail features dry cleaning instructions with a "Set 1 1965" flag tag. The Cardinals chenille emblem is original and shows a few minor abrasions. Shannon signed the jersey in blue felt tip ("8") near the tail. While the jersey has a few minor holes near the back NOB, it is complete and has been restored. This beauty should be hanging in Shannon's restaurant or at the new ballpark.
