1971 Roman Gabriel Game-Worn Rams Jersey
An All-American QB at NC State, Roman Gabriel was the Ram's 1st-round pick in 1962. He sat for five years and then exploded in his first opportunity to lead, becoming the towering ladder of the Rams and Eagles for the next eleven seasons, ending his All-Pro 16-year MVP (1969) career with 29,444 yards and 201 touchdowns.
This classic blue & white gamer dates to 1971 and marks the final season the Rams jerseys were made of a heavy non-mesh material. Large Rawlings size 48 sports at least five inches of extra length (Roman stood 6'5'), and features a unique one-inch crossover cotton braid V-neck, 3/4 length sleeves with uniquely fonted heavy royal blue plastic numerals, and extra wide underarms with QB gusset seams. Soft wear abounds. Very desirable example from one of the Rams' greatest passers and legends.
