1963 Tony LaRussa Game-Worn A's Flannel Jersey

Before Tony LaRussa was a Hall of Fame caliber manager, he struggled like most big leaguers. The offered size “42” yellow flannel jersey was worn by LaRussa during his rookie season in 1963. LaRussa first burst upon the scene in '63 and didn’t resurface until '68. We must report the front team “A”, NOB (“TONY”) and all the trim has been restored. There are remnants of where the front “A” stood. #29 was worn by LaRussa in ’63 and then not worn again until Jose Santiago assumed the number in 1965. The original two-color tackle twill numbers show heavy wear and have puckered noticeably. A Wilson size “42” tag is applied in the tail as is a “Set 3-63 no. 29.” Although not original, this flannel served one of baseball’s brilliant minds.
