1968 All-Star Game Program w/Ticket Stub and Two Vintage Astrodome Related Brochures

In 1968, baseball had moved into the new era (albeit controversial) with the first All-Star game to be played inside and on turf. The NL defeated the AL 1-0 with Willie Mays scoring the winning run. This game also marked the last All-Star appearance of Yankee legend Mickey Mantle. Offered from the game is the official program in Near Mint condition with a ticket stub stapled on the front as a prized trophy.  As a bonus and  worth the price of admission, are two brochures (of the era). They include Astroworld and Astrodomain which includes all the attractions in and around the Astrodome.

Frank Rinella and Pittsburgh Post Gazette sportswriter Al Abrams shared a common bond in their love of sports. It was Abrams who was a newspaper lifer. After joining the Post Gazette in 1926, Abrams was the paper’s sports editor from 1947 to 1974.
Accompanying Abrams to many of the games was Rinella, a friend in the truest sense. The duo went to many Super Bowls, All-Star Games and even attended a couple of World Series.
American Memorabilia is proud to offer many of the treasures Abrams gifted Rinella through the years of their friendship. Other items come directly from Rinella’s extensive sports collection, which started in the mid ‘30s. Once Rinella secured his sports artifacts, he took great care of them and stored them with the utmost care. These have never been offered for public sale until now.
