![]() 1955 "The Man with Golden Arm" Original One-Sheet Movie Poster Signed by Frank Sinatra, Otto Preminger, Arnold Stang, Darren McGavin, Eleanor Parker, Kim Novak & Elmer Bernstein (Kern Collection)This item comes from the collection of Artie Kern. Many of the items in Artie's collection were on display in the Songwriters Hall of Fame Museum in NYC where he also was a consultant in the early 1980s before it closed. He obtained many of the items with the help of Sammy Cahn who was president at the Hall for 17+ years and Artie acted as his chief A/V man for many years previously. About Sammy: Sammy Cahn was very much an accomplished lyricist in the entertainment industry and obtained many of the autographs through his personal friends and associations. He scored high notes with Academy Award winning lyrics in four songs (most notable is “Three Coins in the Fountain”). Cahn also kept his feather duster busy with five Golden Globes and an Emmy on his bookshelf. If that’s not enough clout, Sammywas Frank’s personal lyricist for 50 years at Columbia Records, Capital Records and in the ‘60s Frank started Reprise Records. Many of their hits like “Second Time Around “and “Call Me Irresponsible” (Oscar winner) were successful. They were recorded on Reprise in the 1960s. Presented is the original one sheet poster to the 1955 film “The Man with the Golden Arm”. The artwork was done by “Saul Bass”. The highlight is this was signed by Frank Sinatra, Otto Preminger, Arnold Stang, Darren McGavin, Elanor Parker, Kim Novak and Elmer Bernstein (who provided the wonderful score). Frank Sinatra in probably his finest performance was nominated as a Best Actor but lost to Ernest Borgnine. Poster shows some wear from age/storage (knicks/spotting) but presents well for display. Sinatra signed this and other items for Uncle Sammy and The Songwriters Hall of Fame Museum where they were displayed during the 1980s at 1 Times Square. Parker autographed this as well as well as other items in the mail. Preminger who lived about seven blocks away from the Museum graciously signed items like this for Sammy who sent a note to him. Novak was at "Good Morning America" in the mid-1980s and was kind enough to sign various items for Sammy and The Museum. Stang lived on the Upper East Side and Artie ran over to his place to sign. Elmer Bernstein came to The Museum after a chance meeting with Artie at Granada TV Rental. While another salesman was helping Bernstein, Artie went over and asked him about his compositions, films and scores. He later signed at the Museum. McGavin was on Broadway and signed it after a show while noticing Sinatra’s autograph. Authentication100% Authentic Team, Agent Letter
