Jean Harlow Owned Engraved Enamel Make-Up Compact (Originated from Make-Up Artist - LOA From Norma's Jeans)
We think of glamour and glitz when we think of old Hollywood. We think of "Glam" and "Glam" means the costumes and make-up the actors would adorn. That's exactly what this "GH" rouge & mirror compact represents. This relic has been preserved from this era.
Presented is a gorgeous make-up compact that belonged to the original "Blonde Bombshell" -- Jean Harlow. Harlow was a MGM movie star icon in the 1920s-30s who starred alongside Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy and William Powell. The compact has an ornate enamel top with floral design and was engraved with her initials "GH". Image, Harlow, seated at the head table in the most famed restaurant. She opens her compact, gazes and bats her long eyelashes, revealing her pale white skin, as she feathers the pink rouge across her cheeks. Stupendous. It originated from the collection of Gordon Bar a renowned make-up artist and collector. This provenance was noted on the descriptive LOA from Norma's Jeans.
